Cong celebrates 104th birth anniversary of Indira Gandhi

KATHUA, Nov 19: A function was organized by Congress at Dayalachak to celebrate the 104th birth anniversary of former Prime minster of India, Indira Gandhi wherein large number of workers participated and paid floral tributes to their leader.
While addressing the gathering, ex-MLC Subash Gupta lauded the role of Smt Gandhi in making India a vibrant and powerful country in the world. "During her tenure as Prime Minster, she undertook number of historic decisions, while not only revolutionized the country but also changed the old -age opinion of the world community toward India", Gupta added. Remembering achievements of Indira, former MLC Gupta said that she was known as an iron-lady for her dynamic qualities of leadership and farsightedness.
She led the country to great heights of success in various fields and India emerged as a strong and powerful nation in the world due to her able leadership. She was one of the most successful Prime Ministers of the country who worked for the welfare and upliftment of the downtrodden and poor sections of the society. He referred to his association with the late leader and the Congress party and described her dynamic personality under whose leadership country and the congress party emerged stronger.
"Indira Gandhi was an inspirational leader and has left for us many ideals to follow and contribute in the uplifting of the nation," he added. He appealed the Congressmen to follow the footsteps of great leaders of party so that their dreams come true.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Yugal Kishore Bali, Rajeev Gupta, Vinay Sharma, Master Sat Pal Sharma, Rameshwar Sharma, Adarsh Sharma, Bishan Kumar and several others.
