Bovine smuggling bid foiled by police, 11 bovines rescued

KATHUA, Nov 20: In its continued efforts to eradicate the menace of Bovine Smuggling from the society, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua R C Kotwal-JKPS once again has been acting tough against the illegal activities of bovine smugglers within the district rescued 11 bovines in the JD of Rajbagh Police Station,01 person arrested and 01 vehicle was seized as well .
According to reports in the wee hours of 20-11-2021, a police team of P/S Rajbagh led by Insp. Amit Sangra SHO PS Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO Border Sachit Mahajan JKPS while on patrolling/ naka checking duty in between Dhaloti to Hardo- Muthi Rajbagh noticed the movement of one suspicious truck bearing Reg.No. DL1GB-7842 which was being driven by person namely Showkat Ali S/o Shah Mohd. R/o Jod Juthiana Tehsil Kathua who was directed to stop for checking. During physical checking, 11 Bovines were found to be loaded in the aforesaid vehicle in a cruel manner.
Thereafter, said police team was able to rescue 11 bovines which were presumably being taken without any legal permission, 01 person arrested and 01 vehicle was seized as well.By taking this cognizance, a case FIR 235/2021 U/S 188/IPC,11PCA Act has been registered at Rajbagh Police Station and further investigation has been started.
