Reasi Police arrests three notorious drug peddlers

REASI, Nov 20: District Police Reasi arrested three notorious drug peddlers and illicit liquor smugglers and recovered banned drug heroin, illicit liquor from their possession. A team of police at check Post Balini during checking and frisking of vehicles noticed suspicious movement and stopped one motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AP 7907 plying from Reasi towards Katra.
During checking two grams heroin (Chitta) like substance recovered from the possession of bike rider Ravi Kumar S/O Om Parkash R/O Shapanoo, Dera Baba of District Reasi. On this FIR 253/2021 U/S 8, 21, 22 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Katra and accused arrested, banned drug along with vehicle is seized for further investigation to unearth forward and backward linkages in the case.
A police team on a specific information laid a naka near bus stand Reasi, stopped and frisked one person namely Kehar Singh S/O Prem Singh R/O Dhanore Arnas and recovered 45 bottles (750 ml each) of liquor from his possession. On this FIR 225/ 2021 U/S 48(a) Excise Act stands registered at Police station Reasi and investigations initiated.
A team of police station Arnas arrested one Sunita Devi W/O Bakeel Singh R/O Matlote Tehsil Thuru and recovered nine litres of illicit (desi) liquor from her possession. In this regard FIR 126/2021 U/S 48(a) Excise Act stand registered in Police Station Arnas and investigations initiated.
In another incident FIR 127/2021 U/S 48(a)(e), 50 excise act against one illicit liquor smuggler Jagdev singh S/O Laxmi Dass R/O Thub thanole and recovered five litres of illicit liquor from his possession and illicit distillation unit destroyed. On this accused arrested and further investigations started.
