Rich tributes paid to Lt Gen Bikram Singh on his 59th martyrdom

JAMMU, Nov 22: Lt Gen Bikram Singh Yadgar Committee organized a programme under the chairmanship of Lalita Sharma, President Charanjit Singh Raina along with Chief Advisor of the Committee Harinder Vickey Mahajan and Kirtan Singh to pay floral tributes to Lt General Bikram Singh on his 59th martyrdom day at Bikram Chowk near Tawi bridge.
Multi-faith prayer was also organized during the function to pay homage to the martyr, who lost his life in a helicopter crash near Poonch along with other top commanders of the Indian Army.
All present their stated that Indian Army has no parallel in bravery and martyrdom. Balvinder Singh, social activist, urged upon the younger generation to come forward and do their bit in upholding the glory of the Indian Army. Others who spoke on the occasion about the life and deeds of the great General included Kanchan Singh, Anil Kohli, Sushil Sharma, Paramjit Singh Raina ex-Councillor, Gurcharan Singh, Th Jai Singh, Darshan Sharma, Gurmeet Singh and Charanjit Singh Jamwal.
Members Yadgar Committee thanked the officers of JMC for taking up the repair of the site of Statue on their demand and raised some more reasonable demand which includes raising the height of the Statue as the construction of flyover has obstructed its vision, removing the ladder from front of the statue and fix it from the rear of the statue or the side of the Statue so that it remains visible from every angle.
