| GDC Samba organizes cleanliness-cum-plantation drive | | |  Early Times Report
SAMBA, Nov 22: NSS unit of GDC Samba organized a cleanliness-cum-plantation drive as a part of "Three-day long drive" in the college campus under Swachchh Bharat Abhiyaan. The programme started with planting an Araucaria plant by Principal of the college Dr Naveen Anand followed by plantation drive by the faculty members, NSS volunteers and students. On Second day of drive about 100 ornamental and medicinal plants were planted in the front area of the college. The Principal of the college encouraged the volunteers to plant more and more plants in your surroundings and take care of their plants. Ninety volunteers participated in the drive to make the college clean and green under the Swachchh Bharat Abhiyaan programme. All the volunteers took the oath that they will spread awareness about plantation in their respective villages and locality. Students showed great enthusiasm in the plantation drive. The activity was organized under the supervision of Dr Narsing Dass NSS Programme Officer and patronage of Principal Dr Naveen Anand. The drive was attended by Dr Arun Kumar, Dr Rajni Sharma, Sanjeev Jamwal and Prof Karan Maini. |
