Asks for enhancing DRCS’s resources through fund-raising; calls for strict enforcement of Covid SOPs

KISHTWAR, Nov 26: District Magistrate Kishtwar Ashok Sharma, today chaired a joint meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority and District Red Cross Society (DRCS) here to discuss Disaster preparedness, Covid care and SOP enforcement.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Sham Lal Sharma; ADC Kishori Lal Sharma; Joint Director Planning, Mohd Iqbal; SDM Chhatroo Inderjeet Parihar; ACR Akhter Hussain Qazi; ACD Kishore Singh Katoch; SDM Marwah Mohsin Raza; CMO Kishtwar Dr R S Manhas, besides members of SDRF and Red Cross Society.
The meeting discussed threadbare various rehabilitation issues and re-activation of COVID care centres in view of fresh rise in the cases.
The DC directed CMO Kishtwar to mobilise the resources in the designated Covid Care centres (CCC) to deal with an emergency situation, if any.
On the issue of COVID Enforcement Measures in the district, necessary directions were issued to the implementing agencies to strictly implement the COVID Appropriate Behaviour and intensify the Testing and 2nd dose of vaccination in the district.
During the meeting, the working and the resource management of District Red cross society were also discussed.
The chair expressed concern over the meager resources with the Red Cross Society. The meeting decided to enhance the resources through various sources like seeking voluntary contribution from employees and those availing the government Services of different departments.
