Early Times Report

JAMMU, Nov 26: Dogra Degree College organized two days workshop on Financial Education in collaboration with SEBI Jammu for the final year students of the college.
The programme started with welcome address by Bela Thakur, Principal, Dogra Degree College.
The resource person for the day was Anil Sharma, expert trainer, Assistant General Manager & office in-charge SEBI Jammu.
The two day workshop on financial education was organized as a part of NISM initiative of spreading investor awareness and promoting financial literacy.
The attendees of the workshop will be certified as a part of financial education certification for young citizen programme KONA KONA SHIKSHA a kotak securities CSR initiative. The broad objective of the workshop was to impart among young investors money skills and inculcate financial discipline in their day to day life and thus empowering the youth.
Students showed great enthusiasm and actively participated in the events of the workshop. They learnt the prerequisites for effective financial management. It was a fruitful knowledge sharing experience. The learners were able to develop the ability to understand how money works: how someone makes, manages and invests it, and also expends it (especially when one donates to charity) to help others.
Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, emphasized on the holistic development of students and lauded the efforts of the Anil Sharma and Dogra Degree College staff for successfully conducting the workshop.
