DODA, Dec 3: Deputy Director, Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Jatinder Kumar Mishra inspected sports infrastructure projects during an extensive tour to Chenab region districts of Doda and Kishtwar. At Doda, he inspected ongoing developmental works, under UT Capex Budget at Sports Stadium which include Protection wall/ Retaining wall, Rifle shooting hall, Fencing & Main Gate & Mini Sports Stadium Beer Bagh.
The ongoing projects are being executed by R&B and RDD Departments. He was accompanied by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Doda, Jaffar Haider Sheikh along with other Staff members. He also chaired a meeting with the Executive Engineer (RDD Doda) along other staff and issued instructions regarding speeding up of execution works for the financial year 2021-22.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Director inaugurated the Inter Zonal District Level Athletic meet for U/14,U/17, U/19 boys & girls open at Chowgan Kishtwar.
The Competition was organised by DYSSO Kishtwar Kharati Lal Sharma. He apprised the chief guest about the achievements of the Sports Department Kishtwar. He said in past months the department engaged 28,000 students in different events organised by the Department and a huge participation of students from all zones is being witnessed in this athletic meet amid due adherence to Covid-19 SOPs. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest lauded the sports fraternity of Kishtwar for their hard work and gave further instructions for involving more and more students for upcoming events.
The Chief guest declared the event open by clicking the Clapper for 100 mts sprint, while at the same time other athletic events were also performed under the supervision of Susheel Kumar Sharma, a renowned Physical teacher of the department.
Later, the Chief Guest gave away medals to the winners.
Later, Dy. Director also inspected construction works of playfields coming up in different areas under the state capex budget.
