Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 3: The family members of Arjun Das, a deceased daily wager of Higher Education department has appealed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Kumar Sinha to come to their rescue since they have lost their sole bread earner due to terminal illness.
Wife of Das said that it is getting difficult for them to carry out daily chores of life since they have no source of income. She said that since no income is being accrued following the demise of Das it is getting difficult to buy essentials of life adding that if the situation remains the same they would face starvation.
“I request the LG to come to our help since we are suffering like anything. There is no source of income and in such a situation it is getting difficult to come to terms.
It is getting difficult to make the two ends meet and sadly there is no one to help us in this hour of extreme crises,” said the wife of Das.
The wife of the daily wager said that besides failing to keep the kitchen running she is also not able to pay the fees of her two daughters studying in class 11th and class 4th respectively. She said that her daughters may be forced to leave the education since the family is not able to pay the fees.
Das, a daily wager in the Higher Education department fell ill in December 2020 and after receiving treatment he recovered. However, from March this year he once again fell and later on he was diagnosed to be a CA patient. He had to go through many cycles of chemotherapy and ultimately he passed away some time back.
The elder daughter of Das said that the government should have some scheme for the children of lesser God so that they are not pushed to the wall once their bread earner leaves this world.
Das had been working as a daily wager for the past 11 years with his services not being regularized for the reasons best known to the people at helm.
