EARly Times REport

Mandi (Poonch), Dec 14: Gujjars-Bakerwals and Pahari Tribal Suffered for last 70 years because of selective discrimination done by NC, Congress and PDP.
This was stated by J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina during a massive public rally at Mandi in Poonch District. Raina was also accompanied by BJP General Secretary Vibodh Gupta, State Executive Member Devinder Rana, Mohd. Iqbal Malik, District President Mohd. Rafiq Chishti, Ex. MLC Pradeep Sharma, Sunil Gupta, Shahzad Khan, Gurdeep Singh Khalsa and other party leaders.
Ravinder Raina while addressing the massive rally said that no development was done in Rajouri and Poonch by NC, Congress and PDP. He said that these parties only misused the power of democracy to fill up their own pockets and cheated people on the name of region and religion. He stressed that only Modi Govt. did justice with the people of Rajouri and Poonch and the people are benefitted by the true public oriented policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Union Government. Adv. Vibodh Gupta said that the justice has been served to the Paharis, Gujjars and other communities under the present dispensation whether one talks of political empowerment, reservation or ground development. He insisted that BJP's model of development doesn't makes any difference based on one's region or religion. Devender Singh Rana said that the BJP is committed and determined to make all mountainous and hilly areas of Jammu and Kashmir part of the growth story unfolded by the Union Government. Rana demanded special recruitment drive in police and para military forces for the unemployed youth of LoC and border areas and also sought creation of special employment avenues for the youth of the border areas of J&K. “All regions, irrespective of religion or caste shall get a fair deal in development and jobs with no region having hegemony over the other as we are for equitable development of all regions and sub-regions”. he maintained. Iqbal Malik said that Pahari population is a Nationalist group who contribute positively in the Nation's progress. He pressed for the provision of ST status to Paharis. Mohd. Chishti also laid stress on the provision of ST status to Pahari population. Pardeep Sharma and Sunil Gupta also spoke on the occasion.
