After misleading Lok Sabha about no media curbs in J&K, BJP MP tells another blatant lie
Says, metro rail project ‘almost complete’ in Jammu, Srinagar
12/14/2021 11:31:43 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 14: After the J&K government brazenly misled the Union Government about there being no ‘media-curbs’ in the Union Territory (UT), BJP Lok Sabha member Jugal Kishore Sharma hoodwinked the august house of the Parliament by giving a totally wrong statement regarding metro rail projects in Jammu and Srinagar cities respectively.
“After the abrogation of article 370, developmental activities have been accelerated in the Union Territory of J&K. Metro rail projects at two capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar are about to complete”, Jugal Kishore Sharma informed the august House while raising the issue of public importance in the Lok Sabha.
Two-time Lok Sabha member, Jugal Kishore Sharma gave an impression in the Parliament that metro rail projects are almost completed in both the capital cities, knowing that the Jammu rail project is yet to be formally approved.
Jammu and Kashmir government has submitted a Detail Project Report (DPR) of Rs. 10,599 crores for the metro rail projects in Jammu and Srinagar to the Centre for approval on 19th September 2021.
During his visit to Jammu in October this year, the Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister and Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) Hardeep Singh Puri said that the metro rail project in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) would be approved very soon.
Interestingly BJP has posted Jugal Kishore Sharma’s speech in the Parliament on its official Twitter handle under the caption “MP Lok Sabha Shri @mpjugalkishore raising ‘Matters of Urgent Public Importance’ in Lok Sabha”.
Important to mention here that the J&K government has earlier deceived Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, who on Wednesday informed the Parliament that the J&K government has not imposed a curb on media. It is a hard reality that the incumbent J&K government is gagging the voice of media by stopping the advertisement of many newspapers including The Early Times for reporting the truth and highlighting rampant corruption in the administration.
The officials from J&K have provided the wrong information to Union Home Ministry.
