Students of Dogra Degree College visit industrial unit

JAMMU, Dec 27: In line with teaching methodology in place, an Industrial visit to the production unit of Intex Pvt. Ltd. was organized by Dogra Degree College for its students. A group of 40 students accompanied by their teacher mentors Rajinder Kumar and Shivani Kashyap visited the industrial unit today. The students of the college got a chance to interact with Production Engineer, Varun Kumar and his production team of the Intex Pvt. Ltd. situated in Bari Brahmana. The whole production process of Cabinet gathering, woofer assembly line and speaker assembly line was explained with the help of live interaction. The students and their mentors got a chance to see the whole production machineries which are required for woofer production. Students also interacted with Shifali Bhat, Quality Engineer in Intex Pvt. Ltd.
The students gathered information about the working of various machines, safety measures taken by the management, and quality checks adopted by the unit so that the manufacturing is the best and up to the quality benchmark. This visit helped the students to understand the concept of the manufacturing process, marketing strategies, and human resource policies, initiatives taken to increase sales, the competitive position and advantages in the market. Question answer session opened windows to some management concepts, marketing HR and competition related issues in a working environment which can at times prove very crucial.
It was a collective effort by the industry and institution to facilitate and concrete the theoretical knowledge of the students. The visit was coordinated by Manmohan Singh, HR Department of Intex Pvt. Ltd. The whole experience was an eye opener for the students and they showed enthusiasm and interest to be a part of future visits of such kind. The visit was a great learning experience for the students from Commerce courses.
