2021-a year of many fold achievements for Reasi Police: SSP

REASI, Jan 6: On the one hand Reasi Police worked throughout day and night to enforce Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB), mobilized all its resources and applied all its vehicles as ambulances for covid vaccination in the district. More than 56 thousand CAB violators were fined collected a fine of Rs 42 lakh. Awareness campaign against the pandemic was also conducted throughout the district that played a vital role managing the Covid Pandemic.
On the other hand Reasi Police geared up its teams on various fronts and achieved remarkable landmarks in the year 2021.
During the year 915 cases were registered in the district Reasi and completed investigations in 1074 cases, chargesheets produced in the respective courts of law. Out of which investigations in 265 long pending cases was concluded on merits.
7 murder cases and 14 attempt to murder, whereas 76 cases under NDPS Act, 17 cases of rape and 29 cases of kidnapping were concluded on merit in the year 2021.
While sharing the details, SSP Reasi, Shailender Singh conveyed that this is highest ever disposal in number as well as percentage achieved by Reasi Police since the formation of the district. This was possible due to coordinated efforts of Reasi Police in which special teams were constituted to clear all the hiccups and collected pending 210 FSL Reports, 73 medical reports and 40 revenue reports which were prerequisite to conclude the investigations.
Shailender further asserted that many cases were long pending due to stay imposed by High Court for which regular follow-up was conducted for successful in vacating stay in 25 long pending cases, 71 petitions got dismissed whereas bail applications in 23 cases got rejected. The disposal of courts during the year has been more than sum of disposal of preceding four years that could be possible by conducting two to three review meetings in a week. Similar efforts have been put in Inquest proceedings out of which 6 have resulted into lodging of FIRs of murder.
SSP said that in the year 2022 Reasi Police will continue to carry out Peace and tranquility in the area and will work with more zeal. No stone will be left unturned to book the criminals especially drug peddlers who are trying to spoil the youth of Reasi.
