Resolve regularization issue of daily wagers on priority: Tony
1/20/2022 10:52:26 PM
Early Times Report
SUCHETGARH, Jan 20: DDC Member Suchetgarh Taranjit Singh Tony on Thursday urged the LG Manoj Sinha to resolve the issue of regularization of daily wagers working in the several government departments as they are moving from post to pillar to seek justice but to no avail.
While interacting with a deputation of daily wagers, the DDC Member highlighted the plight of daily wager fraternity which is the victim of official apathy because despite assurances from top echelons of the power to those who guided them to give their land chunks for constructing tube wells and in return get government jobs nothing has been done for the youths who have spend their youthful days working as daily wagers and now are reeling under despair and hopelessness as no one in the government is interested in looking into their dilemma. He said that people have donated land for PHE and Irrigation tube wells with the sole aim of getting a government job but after passing of several years working as a daily wagers they have not been regularized. He said that the government should regularize all the daily wagers working in PHE and other departments.
Tony also sought early release of pending monthly remuneration of the daily wagers claiming that it is a criminal act not to release perks of employees in time because the inflation is sky-rocketing and sustaining life under such conditions is next to impossible. He made a fervent appeal to LG Sinha to intervene in the matter and ensure that monthly remuneration of the daily wagers is released on time as running the affairs of family without the salary is not possible these days.
The DDC member also raised the issue of honouring the basic clause of Minimum Wages Act. He said that if the government will not mandate its implementation then how come private entities will respect the same. He however said that the LG administration should first implement the Minimum Wages Act to stop exploitation of poor labourers at the hands of bureaucrats and public sector.
