DC finalises arrangements for Republic Day celebrations

REASI, Jan 20: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Charandeep Singh today chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to discuss and finalize the arrangements for smooth celebration of the Republic Day-2022 in the district.
The meeting was held in strict adherence to COVID protocol and all the participants were fully masked.
It was decided in the meeting that the main function will be held at General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium where Chief Guest will unfurl the National Flag and take salute at the March past comprising the contingents of CRPF, JKP, NCC and Fire & Emergency.
Flag hoisting Ceremony will also be held at Sub-Divisional and Tehsil Levels/ Block level
The meeting was informed that the Republic Day celebrations will begin with playing of Shehnai Vadan at designated places by the Information Department in the wee hours.
For smooth conduct of the National event, tasks were assigned to District Officers related to stage preparation, seating arrangement, Cultural Programmes etc for the successful celebration of the National Function.
The DC laid special emphasis on adherence to Covid Appropriate Behavior during Republic Day celebrations so as to minimize the chances of its spread. A detailed discussion was also held on seating arrangements, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first-aid, PAS, fire-tenders, Media gallery, among others.
The DC directed the concerned Executive Engineers to ensure adequate arrangements of barricading, seating and drinking water supply besides uninterrupted power supply on the day of function.
Instructions were also passed to the concerned officers for ensuring ambulance, fire tender, security and provision of adequate manpower at the venue of the event.
SSP, Reasi informed that all necessary security arrangements have been put in place for the function. He emphasised that families of the Martyrs shall be given due respect during the function.
On this occasion, ADDC, ADC, CPO, PO ICDS, and other concerned district officers were present.
