GDC Vijaypur organizes poster making competition on cyber crime

JAMMU, Jan 20: A poster making competition on the theme “Cyber crime” was organized by GDC Vijaypur as internet is widely used by people in their day to day lives, so it becomes imperative to spread awareness amongst students for safe and secure use of these social platforms.
Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener, Cyber Jagrookta Committee) coordinated the event under Cyber Jagrookta Awareness Abhiyan.
The purpose behind the competition was to aware students about different types of cyber-crimes and to make them more alert, active and beware of fraudsters.
Students from various Colleges and Universities participated in the poster making competition.
In the competition, first position was shared by Diksha Choudhary of GCW Parade, Kavya Charak and Kajal Choudhary of GDC Vijaypur, second position was bagged by Simranjeet Kour of GDC Vijaypur while third position was shared by Jyoti Janjua and Roopa Devi of GDC Vijaypur. Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Sangeeta Sudan, congratulated all the participants and organizing team for holding such an activity wherein students showcased their talent, creativity, knowledge and unique ideas as in a way, fighting cyber crime is everybody’s business and we should think of it as an obligation to do one’s part in the fight against cyber crime. For most people, that means following a few simple common-sense steps to keep oneself and one’s family safe and also means reporting cyber crimes to relevant officials at the appropriate time.
The competition was adjudged by Dr. Kuldeep Singh and Dr. ttal rma. E- Certificates were awarded to all the participants.
