Another Arbitrary Decision
2/7/2022 11:59:32 PM

The government withdrawing all the posts that were announced prior to August 5, 2019, and deciding to re-advertise these has left thousands of unemployed youth across Jammu and Kashmir in lurch.
Youth are in shock and have no idea about what the future holds in store for them. Many of them had applied for the posts that were withdrawn nearly five to six years ago and the recruitment process was moving at a snail’s pace. The worst hit job aspirants have been the ones who had appeared for the interview and were waiting for the final selection list.
People are asking what prompted the government to take such a drastic decision. At least those posts for which the aspirants had appeared for interviews should not have been withdrawn. During these years many candidates have crossed the age bar and they won’t be able to apply for these posts again.
Every section of the society has urged the J&K government to reconsider its decision but the helmsmen have not changed their decision and have decided to re-advertise all the posts with a promise that recruitment will be fast tracked.
Youth across Jammu and Kashmir have been left stunned. Many of them had qualified their preliminary tests and exams and were demanding that the final exercise for selection should be carried out.
Whenever, posts are advertised, aspirants are asked to deposit some fee and during all these years the recruiting agencies have collected huge money as the examination fee and the poor aspirants won’t even get a refund. Instead of providing jobs the government has literally duped the unemployed of the money which was collected as a fee.
Youth are seeking the intervention of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and are accusing the present J&K dispensation of being anti-youth. Their dreams stand shattered and after putting in so much hard work they don’t stand anywhere.
Before October 31, 2019, the erstwhile state government had reportedly referred hundreds of vacancies in different departments to JKPSC, and JKSSB. The selection process for many of them was at the final stages when the withdrawal order was issued.
One more arbitrary decision taken by the present dispensation in J&K has proven beyond doubt that the bureaucrats are managing J&K according to their whims and fancies and have turned into monarchs.
