Nine FIRs lodged for illegal mining; 11 vehicles seized, 8 arrested

REASI, Feb 11: Reasi police lodged nine case FIRs and arrested 8 offenders along with a seizure of 11 vehicles involved in theft of minor minerals.
In an incident of illegal mining at Tanda Seri Khad Reasi, case FIR No 27/2022 was registered at Police Station Reasi and investigations initiated. During the course of investigations two dumpers and one tipper bearing registration numbers JK14E-7157, JK14H- 5657 and JK08G-3805 seized in the case and drivers of the vehicles namely Ravi Kumar, S/o Ram Chand, R/o village Moori Katra, Kishor Singh, S/o Jagdev Singh, R/o Jhajjar Kotli and Satvir Singh, S/o Rattan Chand, R/o H No 93 W No 2 Jakhani-Udhampur arrested in the case.
In another incident of economic crime of mining at Tawi Khad Pouni, case FIR No 5/2022 Police Station Pouni was lodged and investigation initiated. Vehicle trolly not registered yet bearing engine number 1025/5DF 14151 seized in the case and owner of the vehicle namely Budhi Singh, S/o Kirpa Ram, R/o Gari Arnas Tehsil District Reasi arrested in the case.
After getting reports of incidents of illegal mining from Ghayala Anji, five cases were registered at Police Station Reasi.
Case FIR NOs 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36 of 2022 were registered at Police Station Reasi. During the course of investigations vehicles-dumpers JK14H 9107, JK14H 9175, JK21A 2679, JK20A 7733 and JK21D 6601 were seized in the cases and offenders namely Davinder Singh, S/o Mohinder Singh, R/o Joghpur Vijaypur Samba, Kuldeep Kumar, S/o Jattu Ram, R/o Raya Vijaypur Samba, Vijay Kumar, S/o Tej Ram, R/o Gandala Udhampur and Kirpa Ram, S/o Rattan Lal, R/o Mali Udhampur were arrested in the instant case.
In Police Station Chassana Case FIR No 4 and 5 of 2022 were registered and a tractor bearing engine no. H4001-SOK 37686 and tractor trolly bearing engine number 0065510144C3 have been seized while carrying stolen minor minerals of state property. Legal proceedings initiated against Mohd Aslam, S/o Bashir Ahmed, R/o Dhamni.
Further Investigation in all the cases was going on to fix the actual beneficiaries of economic crime.
SSP Reasi while sharing the details conveyed that Reasi Police is committed for protecting the public property and rights of consumer.
