| GDC Chenani celebrates National Science Day | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Feb 28: Government Degree College, Chenani under the aegis of its Science Club, National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit "PRAYATNA", Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav organized an intra-college Essay Writing/Poster Making/Slogan Writing and Quiz contest to celebrate the National Science Day under the patronage of the Principal, Dr. Pragya Khanna on 28 February 2022.
The day was celebrated to commemorate the remarkable work of the Indian physicist Sir C.V Raman in the field of light scattering. Known as one of the greatest scientists and an inspiration to many, Dr. Raman's work has often proved to be helpful in modern science, and his life has been a source of inspiration for many. The teachers of the college expressed their ideas and threw light on the importance of National Science Day.
The students actively participated in the event and prepared posters, slogans and wrote essays. Besides this, an active participation of the students was observed in the Quiz contest. The participants were adjudged by Wahid Farooq and Dr. Mohd. Aasif. In essay writing contest, Mamta Rani of semester III bagged the first position, Sulakshna Devi secured the second position and third position was clinched by Raksha Kumari of 1st semester. In poster making competition, Manisha Sharma and Reena Devi of 1st semester bagged first and second positions respectively whereas 3rd position was secured by Santhosh Gir of 3rd semester. |
