Poonch, Feb 28: Terming anti encroachment drive conducted by Municipal Council Poonch as eyewash as only poor are targeted and favourites are spared during such drives.
The victims alleged that the municipal staff cracked down only reharies and some of the shopkeepers during anti encroachment drive while many are left unchecked despite clear violation by them.
“It has been observed that the team of MC Poonch conducts such drives once in a month or two just to hoodwink the general people that department has been working. Only poor reharies walas are targeted by the staff and a heavy fine is imposed on them,” they said.
They further said that no proper space is provided to the reharieswalas so that they might work freely in order to run their livelihood.
It has also been seen that modified Tata mobiles are used as movable shops. They alleged that the staff and other officials which are should be transferred.
Locals appealed to the LG that officials and other staff which are sitting in the office for a long time should be transferred with immediate effect. |
