Banned drug Ganja, illicit liquor seized; 3 booked: Reasi Police

REASI, Mar 5: Continuing the drive against drug Abuse and drug peddlers launched by District Reasi Police, Today on the directions of SSP Reasi Amit Gupta JKPS, Reasi Police laid surprise nakas in the district and booked three drug peddler-illicit liquor Smugglers and recovered 1.150 kg of banned drug Ganja and 60 bottles of illicit Liquor from their possession.
Team of Police Station Katra led by Insp Sunil Sharma Sho Katra under the supervision of Sh Kuljeet Singh SDPO Katra during surprise raids, checking & frisking at Police check Post Serli stopped one scooty bearing registeration number JK 14 H- 7058 coming from Panthal towards Katra, conducted thorough checking & frisking of vehicle & person riding the vehicle and recovered 1.150 Kg of banned drug Ganja like substance from his possession. Peddler identified as Suraj S/O Indru R/O Serwad tehsil Katra.
Case FIR no. 69/2022 U/S 8, 20, 25 NDPS Act Police Station Katra is registered and investigations initiated.
Vehicle is seized in the case, and the accused Suraj got arrested in the instant case, further investigations going on to unearth forward and backward linkages of the peddlers.
In another incident at Mahore area surprise naka was laid near dak banglow Mahore by police party of Police Station Mahore under the Supervision of Sho Mahore Insp. Jasvinder Choudhary and Chabail Singh SDPO Mahore. During checking of vehicles & persons crossing the naka, police party noticed suspicious movement chased and intercepted and booked two persons namely Mumtaz Ahmed S/O Ahmed Din R/O Mahore and Mohd Ashraf S/O Majid R/O Mahore , tehsil Mahore Reasi and recovered 60 bottles of illicit Liquor 750 ml each from their possession. On this case FIR no. 11/2022 US 48(a)(f )50 Excise Act registered at Police Station Mahore and investigations initiated.
