| JMC Mayor Kick-starts construction work of retaining wall at circular road | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 5: Chander Mohan Gupta Mayor JMC along with Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor JMC, Yudhvir Sethi Senior vice President BJP, Vinay Gupta District President Jammu, Narotam Sharma councillor of ward 3, Narinder Gupta (Koki) & others today kick started the construction work of retaining wall at circular road Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that during the last year of rainy season, the major portion of area has been collapsed due to heavy landslides and the passersby as well as locals were facing great hardships while crossing the area as this road is a very thorough fare and local people as well as tourists/pilgrims who comes at Peer Kho, Bahu Fort & other religious places were suffering a lot due to partial blockage of the road.
He said that it was the long pending demands of the citizens of Jammu which has been fulfilled today by the hectic efforts of concerned councillor of the ward. Sharma said the tender of this much needed work was floated many times but due to certain reasons no one fulfilled the criteria and at last the eligible contractor of Jammu has been allotted this work to construct a well furnished retaining wall at the circular road with an allotted amount of Rs. 97 lakhs by the Public Works Department. |
