Mayor inaugurates Garbage Transfer Station in Ward No 59

JAMMU, Mar 22: Continuing his endeavour to provide better development and civic amenities to the people of Jammu, Mayor JMC Chander Mohan Gupta along with Councillor of Ward No 59, Ashok Singh Manhas today inaugurated Garbage Transfer Station near Cremation Ground at Mohalla Mandlik Nagar Paloura with a cost of Rs. 27 lakh only.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor told that JMC has already taken up the job of providing all the best possible development & civic amenities with active support of the councilors of JMC in each ward to the inhabitants irrespective of any caste, creed or religion especially from the last more than three and half years after public representatives were elected in the year 2018.
He further told that seven "Garbage Transfer Stations" have already been constructed at available sites in various wards of the city so that no garbage remained laying & scattered in the open which further creates unhygienic conditions in the locality. Beside this, JMC has also deployed a sufficient number of Autos, e-Rickshaws for collection of door to door garbage in each ward of the city and necessary efforts are being taken to make Jammu City Garbage free/ Dustbin free.
He also disclosed that this particular "Garbage Transfer Station" will be beneficial for adjoining three numbers of wards and the wet garbage collected here will further taken to Solid Waste Plant after segregation with the help of compactors.
Er. Firdos Ahmed Qazi Executive Engineer, Er. Neeraj Vaid Assistant Executive Engineer concerned Junior Engineer and other supervisory staff of project division of JMC, Prem Raj Sanitation Officer along with other supervisory staff of Health Section, Captain Khajuria, Jagtar Singh, Darshan Singh and other prominent inhabitants of the locality were remained present there during the occasion.
