| Bankoot residents decry dilapidated road, threaten stir | | |

Banihal, Mar 29: Residents of Bankoot hit the streets against the failure of the authorities to macadamize the road stretch in their area.
Talking to Early Times residents said, “The construction work of the Bankoot-Chapanari road had commenced last year in October but it was left incomplete.”
They said, “We had assembled here today to stage a protest against the failure of the authorities but SHO Banihal has assured us that work will start within the next 2-days.”
Residents said, “This road has remained in dilapidated condition for the past many years. There are many Railway companies working in the area and they have ruined all the roads. We request the authorities to provide us with an alternate road.”
They said, “If the repair work doesn’t start within 2-days we will stage protests on the National Highway.” |
