Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 20: Police on Wednesday arrested one fraudster for allegedly cheating an Army personnel posted in Akhnoor area here. Station House Officer, Police Station Akhnoor, Hilal Azhar said that a complaint was received wherein it was alleged that the accused namely Raman Kumar of Melu, R S Pura, District Jammu had cheated the complainant (Army jawan) on the pretext of getting a driving licence for him. "The accused was an operator in Common Service Centre (CSC) and when the complainant approached him and applied for a driving licence, he took details of his debit card following which the accused made transactions from his account to the tune of Rs 1,50,800 without his knowledge," police added. The SHO said that when came to know about the fraud lodged a report with police and during investigation, he was tracked down and arrested. "An amount transferred from the account of the complainant was recovered," he said. The special team was constituted by SDPO Akhnoor, Varun Jandial and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma. |
