4/20/2022 11:50:08 PM

Early Times Report

Pahlagam, Apr 20: Residents of Aathnandan Pahalgam staged a protest here on Wednesday against them not being allowed to carry on with their work at Chandanwari and Betab Valley.
Protesters said that there was a dispute between Aathnandan and Phrisan villages that they will work on shift basis in Chandanwari and Betab Valley. “This morning we reached Chandanwari to work but some goons from Phrisan didn’t allow us to work and chased us out. They even snatched our money,” they said.
Protesters said, “We have informed the police. It’s unfortunate that some goons are troubling poor labourers and are not letting us work. If the administration fails to resolve our issue we will come on the roads and stage protests across Pahalgam.”
They said, “It’s unfortunate that our livelihoods are being snatched and is this the Naya Kashmir we were promised.”
