GHSS Lander has no teachers, lecturers
4/27/2022 12:09:11 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

UDHAMPUR, Apr 26: Students of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Lander today protested against shortage of teaching staff in the school where maximum posts of Lecturers and Masters are lying vacant.
This Higher Secondary School is allegedly being run by only three lecturers while 13 posts of Lecturer and Master are lying vacant for a long time. There are around 636 students in this school and maximum of them belong to BPL category. Up in arms against the non-serious attitude of the School Education Department in this regard, students of the school held a protest demonstration and raised slogans demanding adequate teaching staff in the school.
The protesting students alleged that adequate teaching staff was never provided ever since the school was upgraded as Higher Secondary School.
“Due to the shortage of teaching staff, the students are facing manifold problems to get their queries solved pertaining to their subjects,” they said and informed that there are total 16 posts of Lecturer in this HSS but 13 of them are lying vacant since long.
“The Higher Secondary School in Pancheri has adequate strength of teaching staff due to which the students of 11th and 12th classes in that institution are able to complete half of their syllabus whereas the students of Lander School are lagging far behind because of lack of teachers,” they added.
According to the villagers, the matter was repeatedly brought into the notice of School Education authorities on several occasions but no step was taken to depute the Lecturers and adequate teaching staff there.
