5/1/2022 11:36:01 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 1: Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir National Panther’s Party, Harsh Dev Singh on Saturday alleged that former MLAs and BJP leaders who are living in the government bungalows owe lakhs to the Power Development Department.
Talking to a local news channel Singh said, “People are suffering due to unscheduled power cuts but the former MLAs, ministers and BJP leaders, who owe lakhs to the Power Department are enjoying all the facilities in the government bungalows. On the other hand lines of poor people are being disconnected for just owing a few thousand rupees to the department.”
He said, “I had filed a RTI to know the status of money owed by former MLAs and the reply was shocking. Their outstanding is in lakhs.”
He said, “The J&K administration has spent crores on cheap publicity but has no money to purchase the power despite collecting revenue from the people.”

> Former MLAs owe lakhs to PDD, are getting all facilities in government bungalows
> J&K has never seen such power crisis
> On papers they are providing electricity 24x7 but on ground nothing is being done
said that J&K has never seen such a power crisis since 1947. “It’s unfortunate that people are being deprived of basic amenities. On papers they are providing electricity 24x7 but on ground Jammu is witnessing massive power cuts,” he added.
“Their slogan of Digital India is a hoax. They are not letting people live, turning India digital is a distant dream. Fans and Acs are not working and our inverters are also dead. This government has no right to remain in power,” Singh said.
The JKNPP chairman said, “The government has neither been able to repair the fault nor it has cleared the dues of Northern Grid. A common man is suffering but the VIPs have been provided with the special lines to keep their homes illuminated. Former MLAs are neither paying the rent for the government bungalows, nor have they cleared their electricity dues. Common people are suffering and VIPs are getting everything free.”
