JKSAC hails JKPF for holding rally of DPs
5/6/2022 10:27:31 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 6: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) in a meeting held at Gadigarh, Jammu highly appreciated the Jammu Kashmir People Forum (JKPF) for holding a rally of DPs of 1947 from POK in collaboration with Refugee Cell BJP to pay tributes to more than 40,000 people who were brutally massacred by tribals abetted by Pakistani army irrespective of age and gender within a week's time and also reiterating their pledge to liberate PoK a legal part of India under the illegal occupation of Pakistan. The JK People forum was urged upon to adopt a resolution to impress upon govt. to declare October 22, 1947 as a Martyrs Day when an unparallel genocide took place in present history of the world.
The participants in the meeting also urged upon the Forum also to adopt the resolution demanding the implementation of Joint Parliamentary Committee Report No 183 a complete roadmap to resolve the DPs legitimate issues till the PoK is liberated and their claims are registered accordingly the finals compensation for the loss of life and property is paid to them otherwise the rally would not serve the desired purpose.
While making an appeal to DPs to participate in the rally whole heartedly Gurdev Singh, President JKSAC said that DPs are awaiting their final settlement from the last 70 years but were ignored on political grounds. He said that their issues are totally non-political and should be resolved purely on humanitarian grounds. He appealed to DPs that besides paying tributes to their martyred relations and also reiterating their pledge to liberate PoK from illegal occupation of Pakistan, they should seriously impress upon the organizers of the rally to adopt a comprehensive resolution for DPs adequate settlement as per recommendations of JPC Report No 183.
He said that it is highly unfortunate that the relief scheme of Rs 5.5 lakh provided to DPs by PM Narendra Modi has been closed arbitrarily thus depriving over 8,000 families of 1947, 65 and 71 to avail the benefits of the scheme.
The prominent who spoke and made an appeal are Bhushan Sharma (Kathua), Ashok Sharma (Hiranagar), Palla Ram (Ramgarh), Bhagwan Singh & Capt Puran Singh (R.S Pura), Netar Parkash (Jammu), Dwarka Nath Khajuria (Jammu), Dev Saroop, Dr Deep Sharma (Nowshera) and Tarlok Singh Tara (Poonch).
