MIET Jammu celebrates Scholarship Day

JAMMU, May 17: MIET, Jammu celebrated the scholarship day at its Kot Bhalwal campus today to felicitate students who were beneficiaries of the merit-based scholarships for 2021-22. Prof. Naresh Padha, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion.
Prof. Padha distributed the institute scholarship cheques to the tune of rupees eleven lakhs among sixty-seven first year students. It is pertinent to mention that MIET has provided scholarships worth rupees fifty-five lakhs among its students in the financial year 2021-22.
Prof. Padha congratulated the students who had received the scholarships and those who could not receive scholarships despite their best efforts. He encouraged them to continue performing with zeal and passion and aspire for bigger achievements in the time to come.
Prof. Ankur Gupta, Director MIET welcomed Prof. Padha and other dignitaries to the event and outlined the importance of supporting student aspirations through merit and needs based scholarships. He opined that the students from J&K have great potential which deserves to be supported by institutions to help them realize their growth potential.
Prof. Gupta also outlined several new student-centric initiatives in the pipeline including launching of cloud-based labs for students providing access to custom hardware/software to provide world-class lab experience. Recently, Dataquest magazine had ranked MIET 51st in India in the Top-100 Tech-enabled colleges.
