| GDC Ukhral Celebrates "World No Tobacco Day" | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 31: NSS Unit of GDC UKHRAL in collaboration with 12th RR Battalion of Ukhral celebrated World No-Tobacco day today. The program was organised with the aim to aware and sensitize the students about the abuses of consuming tobacco and other drugs. In the inaugural session Subedar Samar Bahadur of 12th RR Battalion welcome all the student and staff of college and highlighted the ill effect of using tobacco and other drugs in daily life. Prof. Zakar Hussain NSS Program Officer delivers a lecture on occasion and tells students about its harmful effects. Prof. Suresh Chander HoD alos shared his views on the occasion and presented a detailed report about the harmful impact of the tabacoo. He said that Tabacoo kills over 8 million people every year and destroy our environment, further harming human health through the cultivation, production, distribution, consumption. Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr) Ranvijay Singh in his presidential address exhorted upon the students to spread the awareness about the drug addiction, its harmful effects. Large number of students and faculty members participated in this program including Dr. Shafiq Ahmed Katoch and Prof. Rafia Banoo. The program was conducted by Prof. Iftikar Hussain while the formal vote of thanks was presented by Akash Verma HoD Computer Applications. The technical support was provided by Farooq Ahmed Katoch on the occasion. |
