| KPs threaten mass migration, demand relocation | | |  Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 31: Hours after the killing of a woman school teacher, Kashmiri pandits, who have come under the PM job package and living in transit camp, hit streets again and threatened to mass migrate if the administration doesn’t take any decision regarding them within 24 hours.
After the killing of Rahul Bhat, Pandits have been up in arms against the government. The killing of a school teacher from Samba has added to the worries of the Pandits.
In Srinagar, Kashmiri Pandits including men and women blocked road at Indira Nagar and sought justice and relocation to Jammu.
Similar protests were held at Sheikhpora Budgam transit camp where Kashmiri Pandits were demanding relocation unless the situation turns normal in Kashmir.
Amit Koul, a Kashmiri Pandits threatened “if the authorities did not take any concrete initiative and relocate us, we will start mass migration from here”. He said that nothing has changed after the abrogation of 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
“We were told that after abrogation of Article 370 of the constitution there would be everything alright”, an agitated pandit said and added “is this all right that target killings are taking place often now in which our brothers and sisters are getting killed”.
“These are the target killings, even now small kids understood…and migrants are being killed here”, he alleged.
The protester alleged that teacher Rajni was only recalled by an officer to come to school and get killed.
“I can’t say whether it is an administrative ploy or targeting killing…Rajni fell to the bullets”.
He said “We have time and again requested the authorities to relocate us unless the situation gets normal in Kashmir”.
He said that a delegation of the Kashmiri pandits recently met the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan Srinagar where they requested him just to save us and submitted a memorandum. But within a few days our sister was killed today.
“We also request the majority community members to share shoulders with us in this period of time”, he said and added “We urge them (the majority community) to come and join us and share our pain and agony”.
They alleged that those who are staying in transit camps are virtually living in jails…But what about those security who are staying in rented accommodations, they question.
“If the authorities did not take any serious initiative about us, we will start mass migration from here”, the Kashmiri pandits threatened |
