NHM employees protest, demand wages | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 6: National Health Mission (NHM) workers on Monday staged a protest here demanding the release of their pending wages. The women workers blocked the fashionable Residency Road and chanted slogans against the failure of the government in not paying them for the last six months. The NHM employees warned that if the authorities did not release their pending salaries by June 10, they would sit day and night on the roads in protest. “We are permanent employees with service of 25 to 30 years and without salaries for the past six months,” a woman employee told the media. They said the government had promised to release pending wages of the employees in April 2022 but failed to fulfill their promises. |
