Srinagar, June 6: The Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested a brick kiln owner in Budgam district for alleged negligence and non-compliance of administrative orders that led to the killing of a non-local worker on June 2.
Police said Mohammed Yousuf Mir of Chattergam was arrested for endangering the life and safety of labourers.
On June 2, militants fired at two labourers working in a brick kiln owned by Mir at Magraypora Chadoora. One of the injured workers, Dilkhush Kumar of Bihar, succumbed to injuries.
A police spokesman advised all the brick kiln owners and managers to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the administration to ensure safety of the labourers working in their units. |
