JAMMU, June 15: Present government of Jammu and Kashmir has miserably failed to ensure delivery of basic amenities like availability of ration, frequent supply of power and water.
This was observed by Provincial President, National Conference, Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta while interacting with people during the Mass contact programme of Block No 1 (Jammu East) which was conducted. The meeting was organized by Rita Gupta, Vice President Central Zone Jammu in which Rattan Lal Gupta was the Chief Guest. Threadbare issues related to Jammu East constituencies were discussed.
The senior NC leader Rattan Lal Gupta termed it unfortunate that people were being subjected to immense suffering for want of basic amenities like power and water in absence of popular government in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that due to lack of vision and wrong policies of the government, people of J&K are facing a crisis like situation with each segment of society feeling abject neglect. The present government has failed to ensure delivery at the basic levels like availability of ration, power, health, education sector and unemployment.
Rattan Lal asserted that the governance failures writ large in almost every field, adding to the miseries of each and every section of the society. He said that people of Jammu and Kashmir are fed with hollow slogans and anti people policies of government as it promised the moon but delivered nothing. He lamented that the common people are today crying hoarse for basic amenities and the government seems to be least bothered. The senior NC leader asked people of Jammu East Constituency to strengthen the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah as the National Conference alone can steer Jammu and Kashmir to peace, progress and political stability.
Later in the meeting, a resolution was passed unanimously in which the senior NC leaders appealed to the people of Jammu to maintain, peace communal harmony and brotherhood at all costs.
They said that there are certain elements who want to vitiate the peaceful environment of Jammu and Kashmir which are intolerable. They appealed the religious leaders that they should come forward and play vital role in maintaining social harmony and universal brotherhood. They further stressed the need for further strengthening the communal harmony among different sections of the society, saying that bonding among various segments of the society and regions holds promise for prosperous, progressive and united Jammu and Kashmir.

Yashu Vardhan Singh, Dilshad Malik, Pinky Khalsa, Qazi, Suji Zaffar, Riyaz Ahmed Hakala, S. Peter, Dr Amina, Som Raj Taroch, Mohinder Kumar Rana, Dr. Vipan Pal, Nitish Gowsami, S. Tejinder Singh, Munzmail Malik, Shashi Sharma, Om Bali, Ajay, S. Nirmal Singh, Sandesh Shan, Mosim Salaria and others.
