Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 18: Two senior artists of Jammu, Jang S. Verman and Vijay Saraf Meenaghe have displayed their art in the InMA: India-Malaysia Art Exhibition- 2022, an Online Art Exhibition, organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts, ASWARA, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in collaboration with ArtFort India, Verman Cultural Celebrations, India and Nvang Art Space, Malaysia. Ten artists each from India and Malaysia are participating in this art exhibition. The exhibition is dedicated mainly to contemporary abstract art trends, generally being practiced by the artists throughout the world, these days have been put on display in the exhibition.
The participating artists in this exhibition include Prabhinder Lall, Anil Gaikwad, Hemraj, Jang S. Verman, Jayanti Patil, Kaumudi Prajpati, Kriti Saxena, Nijeena Neelambaran, Sangita Sharma and Vijay Saraf Meenaghe (India), and Suzlee Ibrahim, Abu Bakar Idris, Aizat Amir, Aliasyussof, Hushinaidiabdul Hamid, Khairul Zikri, Maizul Affendy, Stephenmenon, Verly Veto Vermol and Zakihadri (Malaysia). All these artists have received formal education in visual arts, and have made a niche in the field of visual arts, both locally and globally. They are active artists/ painters who have exhibited solo and group exhibitions, conducted and attended art activities such as art talks, workshops, and symposiums to further strengthen the works they produce and share their knowledge and experiences, with others.
The diversity of styles and trends in art scene in the contemporary world, like Expressionism, Surrealism, Pop Art, Realism and Abstract Expressionism, can be seen through the art works displayed in the InMA- 2022 art exhibition. Different mediums used by the painters are acrylic, oil paint, ink, gold paint and mixed media etc. Some painters chose printing techniques in the production of their work either through etching, collagraph or silkscreen techniques.
Jang S. Verman's landscapes in a sense are having Surrealistic tones, portraying him as if he is reflecting his flights of imagination taking freedom to fly to the unknown places and hover there in isolation. The works are made with open skies in Acrylic colours on canvas. Vijay Saraf Meenaghe is an abstract expressionist with bold and instant strokes of his broad brushes. The Acrylic colour images are luminous visually and in spite of being pure abstract expressionist's imprints, the works instantly influence the viewer. Prabhinder Lall (Chandigarh) has a tendency to depict landscapes in expressionism with the quality of architectural values as his matter of interest from the very early days of his art journey. The bright and lively colour schemes, mostly in acrylics are pleasing to the eyes.
Prof. Suzlee Ibrahim, Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts, ASWARA, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, himself is an icon in abstract painting in Malaysia. He has held 43 solo exhibitions and has exhibited his work in over forty countries. He has executed his works in Acrylics. Hushinaidi, a practicing artist from Malaysia and an academician by profession, has been lecturing at the Multimedia University at the Faculty of Creative Multimedia Cyberjaya since 2002. His subject matter is mostly figurative, painted with a variation of the mediums.
