PSPS Govt Women PG College Gandhinagar hosts awareness webinar on Road Safety

JAMMU, June 18: NCC units of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev(PSPS) Government PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar on Saturday organised an awareness webinar on the theme 'Sadak Suraksha- Jeevan Raksha' here under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
NCC cadets of all the wings of the college ie 1 J&K Girls Bn, 1 J&K Naval unit and 2 J&K Girls Bn actively participated in the webinar. In all, 90 cadets attended this online session .
Bikram Kumar, Dy. SP, Traffic City South Jammu was the resource person.
Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the college addressed the gathering virtually. She said that students, especially NCC cadets can play a key role in spreading mass awareness about road safety and traffic rules. She encouraged them to come forward for the service of the nation as well as humanity.
The resource person made informative deliberation on traffic rules and road safety. He emphasised on important aspects of road safety among all road users, including knowledge of traffic rules, regulations and road signs, speed limits etc. He also explained the reasons for road mishaps and the measures that can be taken to avoid accidents. The enriching session also witnessed the resource person addressing the queries raised by the students to their satisfaction.
The organising Committee consisted of Lt Dr. Revika Arora, ANO, 1 J&K Girls Bn, SLt. Dr. Neelima.Gupta, ANO, 1J&K Naval unit, Lt. Prof. Suman Bala, ANO, 2J&K Girls Bn and Prof. Poonam, CT 2J&K Girls Bn. Lt.Dr. Revika Arora was the webinar coordinator. The programme ended with a formal vote of thanks by SLt. Dr. Neelima Gupta. Nearly 10 senior faculty members also attended the webinar.
