Jammu, June 19: A truck driver was killed and four shops were damaged when landslides were triggered due to heavy rains in Mandi belt of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. "Due to overnight rains, landslide hit in remote belt of Mandi," a senior administrative official said. He added that four mud houses were damaged and a truck was buried under the debris. "Locals, police and other agencies immediately swung into action and pressed JCB machines into service," he said. The truck driver was rescued from the debris and shifted to the hospital but he died. No other injury was reported while mud clearance operation was in progress, he added.
