Gdc kilhotran organised first ever two day international conference

Jammu, June 19: Department of Zoology, Govt. Degree College Kilhotran organised First ever Two Day International Conference on theme ‘Climate Change and Its Impact on Ecosystem: Mitigation and Adaptation’ via Google Meet in the history of College since its inception in 2008. The conference was organised under the Patronship of Dr. Javed Iqbal Zargar Principal GDC Kilhotran, Convenership of Dr. Wahied Khawar Balwan, Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Zoology, GDC Kilhotran and Conference Directors namely Dr. Tanmoy Rudra, Dr. Arnesha Guha from Kolkota, West Bengal. The Conference was organised in association with International Benevolent Research Foundation (IBRF) Kolkota, Confederation of Indian Universities (CIU), New Delhi and Bhairan Ganguly College, West Bengal.
The chief guest in the inaugural session was Dr. Binay Kumar Chakraborty from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Dhaka, Guest of Honour Dr. Dilip Kumar Jha from Agricultural & forestry University Chitwan, Nepal, Special Guests Dr. Tridib Bandopadyay, Chairman Scientific and Research Institute (SERI), Kokota, Dr. Subhranil Som, Principal Bhairab Ganguly College West Bengal and Dr. Swati Nandi Chakraborty, environmentalist, Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, West Bengal. A total of about 81 abstracts were received from faculty members, Research Scholars and students from all over the India and other countries in particular Nepal & Bangladesh that have been published in abstract book. During the conference total four technical sessions were held coordinated by reputed faculty/Scientists from different reputed institutes in which research scholars and faculty members presented their work based on the theme of conference. The first and second technical session include the Plenary Lectures by Reputed scientist and other sessions include presentations by Research scholars and academicians.
The Valedictory session was presided by Dr. Sudip Barat, President, IASR, Kolkota, Dr. Javed Iqbal Zargar, Principal GDC Kilhotran. The session started with welcome address by Dr. Wahied Khawar Balwan, Convener and organizing Secretary of conference and culminated with Vote of Thanks by Dr. Dipankar Bandopadyay, Secretary International Foundation for Environment & Ecology (IFEE) Kolkota.
