Ban on FAT schools form of atrocity on people to sabotage their future: Mehbooba Mufti | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 19: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday alleged that ban on Falah-e Aam Trust (FAT) affiliated schools is another ?form of atrocity? heaped upon the people of Kashmir to sabotage their future. J&K government on Tuesday had directed Chief Education officers to seal all these FAT schools within 15 days in consultation with district administration and also asked students to enroll in nearby government schools for the current session. FAT, a trust set up by the now banned Jamaat-e-Islami, presently runs around 300 middle and high schools in Kashmir. FAT management claims that over 50,000 students are presently enrolled in these schools. The former chief minister alleged that ?The move to ban FAT affiliated schools is another form of atrocity inflicted upon the people of J&K to sabotage their future?. After land ownership, resources and jobs the latest target is education. I am sure Kashmiris will overcome this and not let their children suffer?, Mehbooba said in a tweet. |
