IRP-2nd Battalion organizes painting competition under CAP in Rajouri

JAMMU, June 23: As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and to motivate the children for co-curricular activities and to boost their artistic skills, 2nd Battalion of India Reserve Police organized a painting competition under Civil Action Programme in Rajouri.
Commandant IRP 2nd Randeep Kumar, Deputy Commandant Khalid Amin and other officers/officials of the Battalion were present on the occasion.
A number of students took part in the competition and showcased their painting skills on the theme "Save Mother Earth". All the participants drew highly appreciable paintings which attracted attention towards pollution of different levels, and needed to have collaborated efforts to check the pollution.
The participants were felicitated whereas the students adjudged first, second and third were given certificates and cash prizes.
Addressing the event, Commandant IRP 2nd Battalion, Randeep Kumar said that co-curricular activities in addition to studies is a pivotal concept meant for developing the intellect level of children and such competitions pave the way in this move. He added that more such events will be held in the near future to boost the artistic excellence of students.
In this competition, Aqib Ashraf of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Rajouri bagged first prize while second prize was shared by Muslim Institute of Education students Sumaira Hamid and Mehr-un-Nisa. The third position was jointly shared by Aleena Mushtaq of Police Public School and Aneesa Chowdhary of Government Higher Secondary School Dodasaan Bala.
Later the participating students were acquainted with other attraction points at battalion headquarter like quarter guard, security drills where as a motivational and informative lecture on pollution, its consequences and ways to check the pollution was delivered by the expert.
