Dogri Sanstha, organize Story telling of veterans

Jammu, June 26: Dogri Sanstha Jammu organized online story telling of late veteran short story writers Padmashri Padma Sachdeva and Shakunt Deepmala. Padma Sachdeva is well known for promoting mother tongue Dogri with her colossal contributions to dogri literature and has been awarded with Sahitya Academy award for her first ever collection of poetry ‘MERI KAVITA MERE GEET’. She has also been awarded with prestigious literary award ‘Saraswati Samman’ and fourth highest civilian award of Republic of India ‘ Padmashri’ in addition to several others. In the program Assistant Professor Dogri Rituraj Sharma read her short story ‘BU TU RAZI AEIN’, which is classified among the all-time critically acclaimed short stories in Dogri Language.
Dr. Sheetal Sharma, Assistant Professor Dogri read another fine short writer Shakunt Deepmala’ s well acclaimed short story ‘PRERNA’ from her only dogri collection of short stories ‘SUKHAN’ that had bagged her Prof. Ram Nath Shastri Memorial award in 2016. The program was presided over by Prof. Lalit Magotra, prolific Hindi and Dogri writer and President Dogri Sanstha Jammu. In his presidential address, he said that through such initiatives Dogri Sanstha ‘s sole purpose is to revisit the beautiful creations of established writers who have left for their heavenly abode but will remain in our memories with their literary contributions for ever. While elaborating the contents of both stories, he said that both are fine example of beautifully written stories and do inspire the readers as well as writers to pen down stories on unexplored subjects. The program was conducted by well-known English, Hindi and Dogri writer and General Secretary of Dogri Sanstha Jammu Rajeshwar Singh ‘Raju’ who wished that the Dogri lovers should respond with their suggestions thus helping the organization in presenting the programs with more creative inputs. He also presented vote of thanks. Technical support was given by eminent theatre activist Pawan verma. The program was watched by thousands throughout India and abroad through Facebook page of Dogri Sanstha Jammu.
