Agnipath is no rank no pension scheme: AICC leader Capt Ajay Yadav
Roll back agnipath scheme demands Congress
6/26/2022 11:03:11 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 26: AICC leader and Chairman AICC OBC department Capt Ajay Yadav today hit out at the centre government for the I'll -conceived agnipath scheme and said that it is "no rank, no pension" Scheme.
Addressing a press conference" Agnipath ki baat, yuvaaon se vishvasghaat", here at press Club Jammu today, AICC leader and chairman AICC OBC department Capt Ajay Yadav said youth of the country are on roads, the prime minister and home minister are silent and not listening to the voice of the youth and war veterans.
JKPCC Chief G A Mir, Working President Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, vice president Mula Ram, General Secretaries Yogesh Sawhney & Manmohan Singh, Ex MLC Ved Mahajan, JKPCC OBC chairman Suresh Dogra were also present.
Capt Yadav said that the agnipath scheme is against the interests of youth who wanted to serve the nation and join armed forces besides it will weaken our defense mechanism and create division in the ranks. The officer shall be regular pension holder but jawan without pension.
Capt Yadav, who is veteran leader and former minister of Haryana, said that he comes from the Rewari area where PM Modi had announced one rank one pension (OROP) if voted to power but instead he has brought a 'no rank no pension scheme.'
Thousands of youth who had qualified preliminary tests and preparing for the final selection since three years, have been left in lurch. The youth are frustrated over the scheme and agitated all over india but the prime minister and defense minister are silent and instead army officers have been put into service to defend the government which has never been the case in last 70 years and army was never politicised.
He said that only 2.5 percent of the ex servicemen have been getting jobs in private sector post retirement, so this assertion that these youth post disengagement would get employment elsewhere is devoid of any truth.
The scheme is not only anti youth but against the interest of the nation and would reduce the strength of our armed forces in the years to come whereas our country is surrounded by the hostile neighbours like China and Pakistan and we can't afford to compromise our defense preparedness and it's strength .
The scheme was never brought and discussed in the parliament to study it's various aspects and it is against the democratic system in the country.
There are 62 lakh government vacancies out of which 26 lakh are in the center government but these are not filled expeditiously and youth are suffering.
The modi government is not worried about the welfare of the educated unemployed youth.
He said congress shall hold peaceful satyagreh at all district Hq and assembly wise against the agnipath scheme and it has already submitted a memorandum to the President of India when Congress delegation led by Mallikarjun Kharge LOP in Rajya sabha.
Later, he also demanded the implementation of the the constitutional provisions of reservations for the OBC in Jammu and Kashmir on the pattern of other states based on mandal commission report, as the entire Constitution is applicable here due to formation of UT.
