Theft Case Solved; Stolen Property Worth Rupees 2.8 Lacs Recovered; Thief Arrested: Reasi Police

Reasi, June 30: Theft case FIR no. 61/2022 US 457/380 IPC stands registered at Police Station Reasi after getting complaint of theft from a shop at salal, Reasi from Rakesh kumar R/O Salal, Reasi.
Multiple teams of Police Station Reasi constituted to workout the theft case. Police teams scanned CCTV footage from the areas, around 30 suspects rounded up during investigations, after strenuous efforts Police team led by PSI Rajat Ic Pp Jyotipuram and Insp. Sunil Sharma Sho Reasi under the supervision of Iftkhar Ahmed Dysp Headquarters Reasi zeroed upon one suspect Anil singh S/O Balvinder Singh R/O Village- Mogla, Tehsil Trayath, District Rajouri who during sustained interrogations Confessed about commission of crime alongwith his two other accomplices.
On his disclosure Police team recovered one transformer, weighing machine & 1 Mangalsutra (gold) alongwith ear rings worth rupees 2.8 lacs recovered from his possession. Arrest of other accuseds is also required in the instant case.
Further investigations to unearth his linkages with other theft cases of district Reasi is going on.
Amit Gupta-JKPS Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi while sharing the information of recovery expressed that Reasi Police is committed to protect property of citizens & further appealed to the Public of Reasi, Katra and other towns that they must make use of technology & install CCTV cameras in the premises of their shops for surveillance on these criminal elements in the society.
