6/30/2022 10:35:09 PM
Early Times Report

KALAKOTE, June 30: Th. Yashu Vardhan Singh, Additional Spokesperson and Incharge Kalakote Constituency, National Conference has slammed the government for its serious misgovernance which is evident from the fact that school going children of Panchayat Mathyani, Mohra Salnu in Kalakote have been forced to study under the open sky in absence of any proper school building. He said that this is no less than cruelty with these tender aged section of the society.
During his visit to Panchayat Mathyani along with Ashok Sharma, District President Rajouri Rural, Yashu Vardhan said that the incumbent proxy government in Jammu and Kashmir run by the BJP Govt at the Centre has failed on all fronts with the common people of this region struggling amidst miserable conditions thrust upon them due to utter misgovernance. He said that if the authorities can’t respond rather get moved by the plight of children studying under open sky amid weather vagaries, hardly any good can be expected of this government in absence of any representative Govt in this sensitive Union Territory.
Th Yashu Vardhan Singh said that it is really an irony of the people of this Union Territory that while the Govt keeps parroting tall claims about its National Education Policy (NEP) the ground realities are quite contrary be it the infrastructure or the teachers or some other ancillaries necessary for the schooling of children.
He appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for his immediate intervention in the matter and make appropriate arrangements for the sake of studying children of this Panchayat.
Ashok Sharma, District President Rajouri Rural, NC, said that it seems that the Lt Governor is not being informed about the ground realities by his team of bureaucrats on sensitive and significant issues.
Asserting that his party has full right to question the LG on this important issue which is concerning the school going children who are the future of the nation and are entitled to all facilities at least for their proper education at this tender age, he said that proper building is the first essential for schooling of children. He said that the government has been repeatedly directing the concerned department to focus on checking the school dropout rate, but I would like to ask the authorities heading the education department that how would it be possible to bring down dropout rate in such horrible situation. He said that it would not be wrong to state that in such a situation these school children are the victims of State sponsored cruelty. He also made a fervent appeal to the authorities of the Education Department to resolve this issue at least on humanitarian grounds at the earliest.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Ashok Kumar Office Secretary, Vivek Sharma Youth President Kalakote, Baldev Singh, Surjeet Singh, Purana Singh, Nand Lal, Jia Lal and Satish.
