Reports about terror groups sneaking into the mainstream political parties in Jammu and Kashmir have evoked concern. The terrorists infiltrating into political parties seems to be a part of the sinister design of the terror bosses sitting across the Line of Control (LoC) to target the politicians.
According to media reports the intelligence agencies have got inputs that terror groups are working on a plot to “pollute the political parties” in J&K.
After the abrogation of Article 370, the terror groups operating in J&K have been changing their strategies to make their presence felt as the security forces have mounted tremendous pressure on these outfits.
Terrorists infiltrating into political parties has perturbed the politicians as most of them are of the opinion that antecedents of the every member of their party cannot be verified. It’s probably for the first time in the past three decades of Pakistan sponsored terrorism in J&K that terrorists are making attempts to enter into the mainstream camp.
The moles being planted by the terror outfits in the political parties can have dangerous consequences.
The political parties at their own level need to be cautious before admitting members into their parties. They need to know who is joining their party.
Terrorists sneaking into the political parties is a serious issue and the politicians should stop playing politics over it. There is every possibility about assembly elections being held in J&K in the coming months.
In order to remain safe and prevent any untoward incident the leaders of the political parties need to instruct their cadres to keep a watch on activities of every member. To identify moles is not a big task, the grass root workers of the parties can do it by checking the backgrounds of new entrants on the local level. If they see anything fishy they can report it.
Pakistan has lost the 30-year old proxy war in Jammu and Kashmir, now it’s trying to vitiate peace by resorting to dirty tactics. Close vigil needs to be maintained to ensure that the adversary doesn’t succeed in its nefarious design. Coming months are crucial for every political party in Jammu and Kashmir, the guard cannot be lowered. Everyone has to remain cautious.
