Improper electricity, water supply affects normal life: Faqir Nath | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, July 6: Apni Party Provincial Vice President and Ex-MLA Faqir Nath has demanded 24/7 electricity and regular clean drinking water supply in Udhampur town and its far-flung villages. He was addressing a meeting of Party leaders which was chaired by Ex-MLA Faqir Nath and other senior leaders of the Party, President, Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi, District President Udhampur Hans Raj Dogra, District General Secretary, Sat Pal and others were also present. During the meeting, the leaders held threadbare discussion with regard to organizational issues and developmental issues of Udhampur District at the Party Office. On hearing the concerns of the Party leaders, Faqir Nath said that the authorities were appraised about poor developmental works and improper health care facilities at the village level, no heed has been given so far. "The bureaucracy is non-responsive towards public issues and no one is listening to the poor people in absence of a popular Govt in J&K," he said and added that the "People are still struggling with basic amenities whereas necessity like regular electricity and clean drinking water seems a dream for this district which is important in many aspects." District President, Udhampur, Hans Raj Dogra also highlighted various issues and expressed deep concern over the silence of authorities. "The roads and interiors of Udhampur districts are evident of the negligence and discrimination on the part of authorities," he said. He also expressed concern over shortage of teaching staff in Govt schools and health staff members in PHCs across the district. During this meeting, Choudhary Bashir Mohammed, Raj Singh, Girdhari Lal and others joined the Apni Party. They were welcomed by the Party leaders into the Party and it was hoped that their joining would strengthen the roots of the Party in the District.
