Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 6: The Provincial President of J&K National Conference, Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta asserted that the J&K administration has shown no interest towards addressing problems of people living in rural areas as facing shortage of basic amenities has become part and parcel of their lives.
He was speaking while addressing a meeting of Senior NC leaders , Block Presidents of Samba Constituency at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan Jammu. The party leaders from Samba apprised the Provincial President about the problems being faced by the people of district Samba in absence of basic amenities like road, power and water.
Rattan Lal discussed the political scenario of Jammu and Kashmir and said that the miseries of common masses across Jammu and Kashmir have increased manifold as the present regime has miserably failed to provide basic amenities to the common masses. He stated that the government has failed to provide regular power and supply to the general public.
Gupta while elobrating his point said that National Conference stand is very much clear about the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir be restored with full constitutional position as was on 5th of August, 2019. It is demanded that this should be restored before fourth coming Assembly elections in J&K, he added.
"The people of Samba district are still struggling to get the mere basic facilities when the people sitting at helm are talking about reaching moon and stars," Gupta said, adding that the present dispensation in J&K has proven to be the worst ever regime which the people have seen in recent past.
The Provincial President laid stress upon senior party leaders of district Samba to remain available 24X7 in public service to highlight their issues being faced by the people amidst non-availability of basic amenities like power and water. He exhorted upon them to highlight the policies and programmes of National Conference and make all possible efforts in strengthening the party base in their respective areas.
Rattan Lal said that the National Conference was the real secular and democratic political party which represented the urges and aspirations of the people of erstwhile state. He said the people having vested interests did not want the National Conference to raise the socio-political issues of people in the highest corridors of power.
