7/6/2022 11:04:12 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 6: Former Legislator and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vikram Randhawa visited Shri Laxmi Narayan Temple at Gandhi Nagar and took stock of the arrangements made for the stranded Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) pilgrims from Punjab and also interacted with them.
The Shri Amarnath Ji pilgrims are stranded in Shri Laxmi Narayan Temple as they can't undertake pilgrimage due to inclement weather conditions.
Assuring the pilgrims that the UT administration is making all efforts for their smooth journey, Randhawa directed the officers concerned to make adequate arrangements for them so that they do not face any inconvenience.
Former Legislator informed pilgrims including women and children that the administration has put in place elaborate security arrangements. Additional deployment of forces, drone surveillance and RFID chips are part of the three-tier security arrangements for the yatra, he said, adding that the Administration is 24x7 available to provide convenience to the pilgrims.
He stated that the annual pilgrimage was cut short in 2019 following the abrogation of Article 370 and wasn't held in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.
Randhawa said that the heavy rush of the devotees shows their commitment to undertake the pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath ji Yatra without any fear.
"Thousands of pilgrims are reaching Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to undertake the pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath ji. All arrangements are in place for the pilgrims", Former Legislator said, adding that BJP workers and leaders are extending their all help to the visiting pilgrims right from Lakhanpur to the pious cave shrine.
All the arrangements made by the J&K Administration for the pilgrims are appreciable, Randhawa said and appealed to the pilgrims to register themselves before undertaking Yatra for their safety and follow all the instructions issued the J&K Administration.
The yatra to the Amarnath cave located at an altitude of 12,756 feet in the mountains of Pahalgam area of Anantnag district has stated simultaneously from the Pahalgam route and Baltal route in Ganderbal District.
The 43-day pilgrimage to the cave shrine will conclude on August 11 on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Multi-tier security arrangements have been put in place in and around the base camps, lodging, registration and token centres with the deployment of security personnel in the Jammu city.
