Congress only secular option for J&K people: Tarachand
7/6/2022 11:04:50 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 6: Senior Congress leader and Former Deputy Chief Minister Tarachand said that Congress party is the only secular alternative acceptable to people in J&K. He urged the cadres to strengthen the party and expose the failure and wrong policies of BJP in J&K, which is responsible for the current situation prevailing in J&K.
Addressing public meeting in Dhok khalsa area of Akhnoor Constituency today, Tarachand said that the people of Jammu region feel utterly Cheated and betrayal for the failure of BJP leaders to represent and agitate their concerns. BJP government in J&K miserably failed to live up to the expectations of the people. There was a strong resentment among the people against previous government as it has not fullfilled its promises made at the time of previous elections. There was anger among the people. The BJP played with the sentiments of the people, who voted them to power. People were not happy with their policies and the government proved to be a failure. Despite people hitting streets against Governance deficit, lack of development and failure of the government to deliver on the promises made to the people of the Jammu and Kashmir, Government did not move even an inch proviving callousness of this anti people govt.
Tarachand claimed that Congress during its tenure had proved how to provide pro -people governance to the people by bringing total transparency and accountability in the functioning of the government. We set an example of good governance during Congress regime where in every individual was provided with the equal opportunity of growth and development, he said. Reiterating his resolve to institutionalize transparency and accountability in the governance, Tarachand said that the Congress had shown the way for strengthening democratic and Constitutional institutions in the state by initiating various revolutionary steps during its tenure in the power.
Tarachand criticised the government's failure to resolve the issues of agitating daily wagers, need based workers in PHE, Irrigation and flood Control besides in several other Departments who are rendering their services for decades and large number of them have even retired without Regularisation. It is the cruel Jokes of the present government with the youths who are on agitation for Justice. He said that, he fully supported their cause and demanded to regularize all such Category of daily wagers in different Departments.
Tarachand voiced his discontent with the BJP government for launching the Agneepath Scheme. The Biggest stake holders in the agneepath scheme is the youth and if the youth has outright reject it, the government must give in and rethink where it went wrong. As it is very clear, there is no Job security for the recruited members, as majority of them will become unemployed by the end of the 4 year term. He said that the government should withdrawn the scheme immediately as it is not in favour of the nation and the future of the youth of the country.
